Chicco LullaGo Deluxe Bassinet Review

Chicco LullaGo Deluxe Bassinet Review

If you are planning on having a baby or already have one, then shopping for quality baby products should be on your list. You have to make sure that you get appropriate milk bottles, potty seats, bibs, and other baby essentials. Furthermore, it is always ideal to include a bassinet in your list of baby essentials because this unit is a big help for new parents.

The bassinet allows babies to sleep in the same room as their parents—it is typically positioned by the side of the parents’ bed so mom and dad can easily tend to their baby when the need arises. The unit is recommended for the first 6 months of the infant. As to what bassinet you should buy, it is crucial that you understand how it works first and do a bit of research on available models on the market.

One way to do this is to read reviews.

Here is our review of the Chicco LullaGo Deluxe Bassinet.

Features of Chicco LullaGo Deluxe Bassinet

  • Comes with 2-tier design
  • Has large canopy with detachable dangling toys
  • Can be folded neatly into accompanying carry bag
  • Comes with mattress pad
  • Fabric is machine-washable
  • Measures 38 x 22 x 43 inches and 8 x 23 x 21 inches folded
  • Has overall weight of 17.5 lbs.

The Chicco LullaGo is a stable product that has a range of features which we are going to discuss in this review. The unit comes with a polyester lining and it has a substantially firm mattress, which makes for a great sleeping spot for the baby—it meets the standards set by the ASTM. The mattress fits securely within a fitted sheet that has zippers so you won’t have to worry about it bunching or slipping off of the unit.

As soon as the unit is set up, the bassinet is as functional as it gets. It is a self-supporting immobile bassinet with a mesh-paneled window located on one end of the unit. The lining can be removed by means of the zipper and allows for easier and more manageable cleanups if need be.

The LullaGo comes with a compact and portable design; its legs can be snapped in or out by means of a button located on each leg, while the frame can be folded in half by pushing another button situated on the frame. The setup can be folded by itself and it can fit within a bigger carry bag.

In terms of quality, the product is well-constructed and one of its advantages is its removable lining plus its firm mattress. The mattress is designed with the safety of the baby as a priority. Assembling the whole unit was a breeze as well since all parents have to do is unfold the whole thing, snap up its legs into their places, and it’s done and ready for the baby to use.

The unit is recommended for families who are after a bassinet that they can acquire fast and assemble within minutes.

This is a portable model that makes for easy storage whenever it’s not being used. For a reasonable price, you acquire a product that can be assembled quickly and fit into vehicles with minimal effort, which will make it a nice option for parents who often travel with their infant.

While the LullaGo has its good list of advantages, it did come with some setbacks. While the unit did have some mesh material thrown in, it was only provided on a rather tiny window on either side. The material provided on the rest of the unit is breathable in a sense but the whole unit could have been a lot safer if the entire circumference were all done in mesh to prevent suffocation risks.

The unit can be folded by itself and it can fit inside bigger carry bags, but the design of the tote bag that it comes with was not given so much thought—the bag does not close and the disassembled components fit sloppily inside. Due to this setup, the bassinet is not ideal to take on plane travel and traveling with it requires some tending so the components will not fall out of the tote bag. Better yet you can keep the items in a plastic bag that can be closed up first before storing it in the carry bag.

The Chicco LullaGo Deluxe Bassinet comes at a reasonable price. However, it did show some features that require a bit of improvement like more mesh paneling. Still, the product can be set up easily and storage is hassle-free so it’s an ideal bassinet for parents who travel a lot with their baby.

The minor issue with the open tote bag can be solved easily by just storing the components into another bag with zippers or any kind of closing mechanism.
